The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa, rtd., at the commissioning of the Agency’s radio station, Clean Beat 91.5FM, urged Nigerians to reject a toxic pop culture that glorifies illicit drug use. He warned that it poses a serious threat to the nation’s youth and future.

The radio station was established to strengthen advocacy and public education against substance abuse.

He said the station would drive anti-drug campaigns, educate the public, and counter narratives promoting substance abuse.

The NDLEA Chairman warned that drug abuse fuels insecurity, undermines public health, and threatens the nation’s future workforce, stressing that education and prevention remain critical in tackling the menace.

Officials of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the National Broadcasting Commission, and the National Orientation Agency, praised the initiative, describing it as a major boost for public enlightenment and youth engagement.
