Security agents solicit public support
The combined security agencies in Ondo state have called for support from the general public to strengthen security networking in the state.
This call was made during a town hall meeting at Oke Agbe and Ikare in Akoko areas of the state.
The meeting is in lieu of the quest of security outfits in Ondo state to ensure adequate security in and around the state. The members of the public are being urged to lend support to security personnel in the state through community policing.
Two meetings took place at Okeagbe and Ikare-Akoko, where representatives of security agencies stressed the need for effective partnership to fight crimes.
Deputy commissioner of police in the state, Kunle Asafa urged people of the state to furnish the police with useful information that will lead to the arrest of criminals.
On his part, the commander, 32 Artillery Brigade of Nigerian Army, Akure, Brigadier General James Atakuba and the state commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps(NSCDC), Fasiu Ayinla said security of lives and property should be the collective responsibilities of everybody.
