Rivers State Government Signs MOU For New Port City

The Rivers state government has signed a public/private partnership agreement for the establishment of a new Port City to be delivered on a one thousand hectares of land.

The aim is to decongest the state capital of Port Harcourt and break the one-city jinx which the state is known for across the country and world at large.

The memorandum of understanding was signed at the government house in Port Harcourt by the state attorney general and commissioner for justice Justice Dagogo Iboroma who represented the state governor Siminalayi Fubara.

According to the attorney general, the idea was from the state governor in having three new cities in Rivers state. The acting director general of greater Port Harcourt City Dr. Tonte Davies described the public private partnership as a dream come true.
