Police Neutralizes Three Suspected Kidnappers, After Failed Kidnap Of Delta Lawmakers Wife

Four weeks after suspected kidnappers killed two policemen in a failed kidnap attempt on the wife of the Delta Lawmaker Representing Warri South constituency Hon. Augustine Oroye, at Effurun in Uvwie local government area of Delta state.

Operatives of the Delta state police command have neutralized three of the suspects involved in the killing of the two policemen who were security aides to the lawmakers wife and her driver.

In a statement by the police spokesperson Edafe Bright made available to newsmen, said the suspects were trailed to their hideouts in Agbarho community, where they were engaged in a gun duel resulting to the suspects sustaining injuries leading to their death on the way to the hospital.

Manhunt for other members of the gang continues according to the police, while items recovered include four AK 47 rifles, ammunition and their operational vehicle.

The Delta police commissioner CP Olufemi Abaniwonda commended the effort and braveness of the DPO Ebrumede police division CSP Iwok Ndifereke and his men who led the operation, as he urged others to emulate them.
