The Ogun State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Abayomi Tella, says the party is ready to receive Governor Dapo Abiodun or Senator Gbenga Daniel if either decides to return ahead of the 2027 elections.

The two politicians are currently engaged in a battle for the Ogun East Senatorial ticket under the All Progressives Congress.

Tella, addressing journalists in Abeokuta, indicated that the PDP is studying the situation within the APC and hopes to benefit if the crisis forces any of the politicians to seek a new platform.

He noted that Abiodun, Daniel, and former Governor Ibikunle Amosun all have roots in the PDP, and their return would be considered a major boost for the party.

On reports of defections from the PDP, Tella dismissed concerns, insisting that the party remains stable and continues to attract relevance. He maintained that several members who left for the APC have become politically sidelined.
