NSCDC deploys 4000 personnel secures 80 convictions.
The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps Rivers state command said it has remained focused on the mandate of the corps despite strong wind of challenges posed by militants, vandals, miscreants and oil thieves in the state.
Commandant of the corps in the state Muktar Lawal disclosed this while speaking with newsmen on the achievements of the command in the year 2019.
The commandant said the impact of the corps in the state has opened more operational doors for the corps to perform its statutory mandate within and around the state.
He expressed the readiness of the command to curb security challenges such as kidnapping, armed robbery, vandalism, cultism among others.
The commandant also stressed that over four thousand of its personnel have been strategically deployed to beef up security, in ensuring that this yuletide is hitch-free as some suspects arrested for various crimes also speak on their involvement.
The NSCDC commandant urged residents to cooperate with the command by providing adequate information that will assist the civil defence in achieving its core mandate in the Niger Delta region.
