Ndume Petitions Works Minister Over Exclusion of Borno Road Project from 2026 Budget
Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, has petitioned the Minister of the Federal Ministry of Works, Dave Umahi, over the exclusion of road projects in Borno State from the 4 Legacy Projects of the Renewed Hope Administration from the 2026 budget.
Ndume, in a letter to the Minister of Works, dated February 11, 2026, drew the attention of Umahi to a concern in the 2026 budget presentation where under the 4 Legacy Projects of Renewed Hope Administration, the road project from Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi-Gombe terminated in Gombe without an inroad to Biu/Damboa/Maiduguri, all in Borno State, North East Nigeria.
Ndume reminded Umahi that of the six states of the North East, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu won only in Borno State in the 2023 general elections, which led to the Renewed Hope Administration.
The Senator, therefore, expressed the belief that Borno State should be the primary beneficiary of Renewed Hope projects in the North East.
Ndume further complained that Borno is still not part of the NNPCL FUNDED TAX CRTEDITS road projects.
The Senator, therefore, requested the intervention of the minister for the rehabilitation of the failed and critical roads in Borno State.
