MRTB laments the spate of Brain Drain in Nigeria

 

The Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria has commenced the training of master trainers on clinical pathway programs to enhancing medical rehabilitation service delivery in Nigeria.

 

The Registrar of MRTB, Prof. Rufai Ahmad, while addressing journalists at a 3-day training exercise at the MRTB headquarters in Abuja, said the clinical pathway would be studied as residency programs in the postgraduate levels for rehabilitation professionals.

 

He added that the training is expected to educate the master trainers on how to become trainer in clinical pathway program for career progression, for Medical Rehabilitation Professions.

 

 

Speaking further, the Registrar lamented the  menace of brain-drain plaguing the profession, stressing the need to produce more rehabilitation professionals to cover the community, and the primary health care centers to help achieving universal health coverage by 2030.

 

Also speaking, a participant in the training, Dr, Lawal Umar, while describing his experience, said the clinical pathway program is key to improving service delivery in Medical Rehabilitation field.
