Operatives of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, in a swift response to an accident scene, rescued two persons, a female motorist, and her male passenger, who were critically injured in a head-on collision along the Gbagada inward Oshodi corridor in Lagos State.

The accident involved a Highlander Jeep with registration number AKD 956 JY, which driver was found to be drunk; and a Black Toyota Corolla with registration number APP 884 JJ.

The crash resulted in substantial damage to the vehicles and caused injuries to the occupants of the Corolla.

LASTMA operatives stationed along the axis, responded promptly to secure the accident scene, provided assistance and prevented subsequent incident.

The driver of the Highlander Jeep was apprehended at the accident scene. He was handed over to the Anthony Police Division for investigation and possible prosecution.

The Police from Anthony Division established that the apprehended driver of the Highlander Jeep was heavily intoxicated at the time of the collision. They confirmed that the driving was controlled by alcohol.
