The first National Suya festival is taking place in Kano state. The organizers of the event which involves the Kano state government and Corporate affairs of Nigeria and other stakeholders said eight states which include Kaduna, Sokoto, Jigawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Niger ,  Yobe, and Kano where properly represented to reposition the multibillion naira barbeque business to international standard.   

Galaxy news gathered that plans are on the way to start exporting various meat products after packaging to the middle-east and some Asian countries.

The national chairman of Butcher association of Nigeria, James Osas called on all meat sellers to join in the new program to upgrade their skills for the growth and development of the industry and the nation at large.

The permanent secretary commerce and industry, Kano state said the plan is to train the barbeque meat sellers on how to meet up with international standard of hygiene. The corporate affairs commission reminded the meet sellers on the need to register their businesses in order to make it a corporate entity.

Opinions were expressed that cow meat business has the capacity to sustain the economy of Northern Nigeria.
