Indigenous Youths Initiate Peace Building Framework For Warring Communities In Osun
Indigenous inhabitants of certain rural communities in Osun State have initiated peace building framework to resolve conflicts ravaging three communities in their clime.
Groups of advocacy youths in Osun State held interaction with young indigenes from Ifon, Ilobu and Erin-Osun communities on means to initiating new course of action on ending the perennial conflicts between the three communities.
The young citizens, comprising indigenous inhabitants of the communities in conflict, converged on Osogbo, deliberated on remote causes of past and recent conflicts in the three neighboring communities.
The peace advocates urged government to incorporate young people into its peace building agenda during the 3-day training, which focuses on conflict resolution, mediation, non-violent communication and civic advocacy.
