FG Allocates N4bn Each To 12 Universities For Engineering Upgrades

The Federal Government has allocated N4 billion to 12 Federal and Conventional Universities each across the Four Geopolitical Zones in Nigeria.

The allocation is to be disbursed through the TETFund Special High Impact Intervention Project.

Each of the Institutions, according to the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, are to receive N4 billion each for skills development, youth empowerment, industrial productivity, and economic diversification through education and technology.

At the Inauguration of the Ministerial Monitoring, Evaluation and Implementation Committee on the TETFund Special High Impact Intervention Project for Engineering and Technology Faculties of Federal Universities of Technology and selected conventional universities, the Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa, affirmed that the Initiative places emphasis on skills development, youth empowerment, industrial productivity, and economic diversification through education and technology.

Other Speakers at the event, including the Minister of State for Education, Prof Suwaiba Ahmad, charged members of the Committee to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, transparency, diligence, and patriotism.

The Committee Chairman, who is also the National President, Nigeria Society of Engineers, Engr. Ali Rabiu, promised that the committee would operate in line with the target set for it.
