Ahead of the Bayelsa State Governorship elections, the state Governor Seriake Dickson has called on the  Inspector General of police Mohammed Adamu to ensure that militants do not destroy the stability his administration has put in place in his eight years as Governor.

The Governor made the call at the Government House in Yenagoa when he received the Inspector General of Police who paid him a visit ahead of his stakeholders meeting with police officers.

The Inspector-General of Police who arrived in a helicopter was received by the state police commissioner Uche  Anozia before heading to the Government House where the Governor expressed his views, with the IGP promising an enabling environment.

The police boss later visited the state police headquarters where he briefed them of their promotions and later fielded questions from newsmen on the coming election.

With eight days to the Bayelsa Governorship elections, the leading political parties PDP and the APC have been accusing each other of plans to disrupt the election, while the assurance from the police and other security organizations would help boost the confidence of the electorate.
