Deputy speaker of the house of representatives Hon. Benjamin Kalu has charged his senior legislative aides to brace up to the discharge of their duty with professionalism and in depth knowledge of the Nation's economy. He made the call at the opening of a two day retreat for senior legislative aides for the office of the deputy speaker with the theme of synergy and success.

Hon. Kalu also implored his aides to be versatile as members of the constitution review committee in engaging in research, public engagements to ensure proper delivery of an efficient constitution. He noted that they will engage with other committees in providing adequate support for a good constitution Amendment.

Also admonishing the aides, the Former governor of Imo state who doubles as the former deputy speaker Emeka Ihedioha and the immediate past Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives Hon. Idris Wase charged the aides on the need to be loyal professionals to their principal.
They also urged the aides to be knowledgeable with critical issues such as Security, Economy amongst others to help the deputy speaker with proper research especially as he chairs the constitution amendment review committee.

European Union representative to Nigeria, Samuela Isopi highlights significant areas it intends to work with the legislature in ensuring the democratic process is smooth being the biggest country in the Africa continent.

Galaxy tv reports that other stakeholders at the event commended the deputy Speaker's office and other partners for coming up with the initiative, saying it's the right step in the right direction.
