Danger Averted as Petrol Tanker Skid off Delta Highway
The danger was averted in the early hours of today at Agbarho community in Delta state which is along the East-West road leading to Bayelsa state as a result of a petrol tanker skidding off the highway, with over 33,000 litres of petrol spilling into the tarred road.
The incident which occurred about 6 am in the morning led to vehicular traffic along the highway as motorists waited for hours to avert fire outbreak.
Speaking on the incident, the senior special assistant to a house of representative member blamed the inability of fire service operation in the area.
Some eyewitness express displeasure over the late arrival of fire service as the community President-General spoke on measures used in preventing fire outbreak.
Cases of falling petrol tankers have been reported severally along the east-west road as a result of over speeding by tanker drivers.
