Airmen and women tasked on safety air operations
The Nigeria Air force Tactical Air Command Makurdi has commenced a two-day Safety seminar for its officers and men as part of efforts to raise safety standards, efficiency and mitigate hazard in both civil and military aviation.
The Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Saddique Abubakar who declared the seminar open said the seminar is aimed at reawakening Consciousness of flight, ground and maintenance safety of airmen and women of the Nigeria Air Force in line with best global practices.
Air Vice-Marshal Remingius Ekeh, who represented the Chief of Air Staff as the special guest of honour at the occasion with the themed: "Imbibing Safety Consciousness for Seamless Air Operations" noted that this is one key driver of the chief of Air staff vision which is robust logistics support and maintenance culture to sustain platforms and equipment serviceability.
The Air Officer Commanding Tactical Air Command NAF Makurdi, AVM Charles Ohwo, however, maintained that the seminar is to raise the bar of safety standards in the performance of duties.
Air Vice-Marshal Ekeh, while urging the airmen and women including other stakeholders to constantly update themselves with best global practice noted this same seminar is been replicated in all other commands.
The seminar will end tomorrow, Friday the 30th of August.
