Abiodun Flags Off Harvest Of  14,000, Metric Tonnes Of 200 Hectares

The Ogun state government has flagged off harvest of a  1,400 metric tonnes of Rice on a 200 hectares of Rice plantation at  Magboro  area of Obafemi Owode local government area of the state

 

The state governor,Dapo Abiodun who flagged off the exercise promised to expand the 200, hecters to 2000 hecters to ensure food security and sufficiency

 

The commissioner however tells youths in the state to embrace Agriculture towards ensuring food security,he e also promised to ensure critical infrastructure development towards driving the vision and mission of the Federal government.

 

Governor Dapo Abiodun who could not hide his feelings said about 30,000 farmers have been captured under the Ogun state  Economic Transformation Project which targets Crops production, Aquaculture and poultry,all these he said is being geared towards poverty reduction,and food security

 

 

Some of the farmers who appreciated the state government for the initiative however demanded extension of the programme,more modern and mechanized inputs to fast track their operations and improved yields 

 

 

@Galaxytv.news reports that the farm is the brainchild of the Ogun State Economic Transformation Project, supported by the World Bank , aimed at driving economic growth and development in the state and address the current food crisis in the country
