5 headteachers demoted in Ebonyi
The Ebonyi state ministry of education has sanctioned three officials in the state over alleged involvement in examination malpractice during the 2016 Senior Schools Certificate Examination (SSCE).
This was revealed by the state’s commissioner for education, Professor John Ekeh while addressing newsmen.
He also revealed that five head teachers were demoted to classroom teachers.
The commissioner revealed further that while five head teachers were demoted, 25 teachers and supervisors will receive half salaries for three months.
Prof Ekeh said the sanction is as a result of a report by the examination body which indicted 20 schools and some officials of irregularities.
