Group urges Buhari to sign PIB

Group urges Buhari to sign PIB
President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged by a group of concerned citizens to act in line with his incessant proclaimed stance on corruption and expedite action on his assent to the Petroleum Industry Bill. ‎
This is in anticipation of the transmission of the Petroleum Industry and Governance Bill (PIGB), to the presidency by the National Assembly‎

The group also advised the National Assembly to shift its focus on the passage of the outstanding components of the PIB addressing host community issues and the fiscal framework for the sector, without which Nigerians could not have the PIB in place.‎
National Coordinator,Public What You Pay(PWYP), Mr Peter Egbule‎ at a press briefing in Abuja, revealed that ‎the Petroleum Industry and Governance was expected to have been transmitted to the President for his assent but was recalled by the National Assembly for a review.
The group hoped that President Buhari will assent to the PIGB whenever it's transmitted to him, recognising that it's his right to refuse assent.
This he said, if the latter happen, it will be disappointing to well-meaning Nigerian, resulting in another round of legislative reconsideration, political intrigues, and public frustrations.
