Malaria: Oyo Govt Seeks Collaboration with Stakeholders

In its bid to curtail the menace of malaria in the state, Oyo State Government has solicited the support and cooperation of all stakeholders, especially the health givers across the state.

The Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr. Bashir Bello while speaking at a forum organized to celebrate the 2021 World Malaria Day in Ibadan, said malaria remains one of the diseases that require a collaborative approach.

Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that the Commissioner for Health maintained that since the advent of roll back malaria, the world has made a giant stride in curtailing the spread of malaria noting that despite the efforts, half of the population are still being infected.

Other stakeholders in their separate remarks stressed the need for joint efforts stressing that the younger generation must be involved in all programmes and activities aimed at reducing the spread of malaria in Nigeria.

The high point of the event was a quiz completion among the selected secondary schools in Ibadan, the state capital.
