Govt warn Deltans against refuse dumping
The Chairman of the Delta state waste management board Mr. Igho Akpojotor has called on Deltans to imbibe the culture of managing waste in the state, to prevent it from being hazardous to human health.
He made the disclosure at Effurun in Uvwie local government area of the state while inspecting the ongoing drainage opening and refuse clearing embarked upon by the state government.
Speaking at the waste dump site in Effurun after supervising the clearing of waste, the waste management board chairman advised Deltans against indiscriminate waste dump.
A community youth leader who spoke called on members of the public to adhere to strict waste management rules, as the chairman spoke on the challenges.
Meanwhile, the opening of drains and clearing of refuse within the state will no doubt help check the incessant flooding in the state.
