Nollywood and the entire Nigerian entertainment industry has once again been thrown into mourning as another veteran actor Justus Esiri has passed away.

It is believed Esiri passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. No details yet on circumstances leading to his death yet.

One of the actor’s sons – the very popular pop singer Sidney ‘Dr SID’ Esiri put up a photo of Esiri on his Twitter avatar and updated his bio as ‘RIP Dad‘. Dr SID did not pick up calls or reply our text message to confirm the story as at the time of this report.

Esiri, a long time actor on Nigerian Television started his acting career in the 70s and is most popular for his role as ‘Headmaster’ in the nationwide series Village Headmaster which aired on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).

He was married to his wife Omiete with whom he had six children, one of them being Dentist-turned pop artiste Dr SID.
