Comedy legend and Eddie Murphy’s elder brother, Charlie Murphy has died at the age of 57.

According to TMZ reports, the stand-up comedian, actor, and writer died of leukemia in New York.

Charlie's manager said that he died on Wednesday morning in a New York hospital, leaving family members who had thought he was getting better while undergoing chemotherapy shocked.

His wife, Tisha Murphy died of cancer in 2009, Charlie is survived by 3 children.
